Aria.co.uk help me cancel my order please!

Could anyone offer me some advice?

I ordered a PC from aria.co.uk for almost £1900 two weeks ago. I have sent them several emails and phoned them twice already.

They aren't returning my emails and today i got through to their CS on the telephone, who fobbed me off about cancelling and said they would get back to me on whether I could cancel it or not.

Of course, they haven't bothered to get back to me at all.

As far as I am aware the Distance Selling Regulations (2000) says that I can return any item sold over the internet within 7 working days. So if they refuse the cancellation I can return it, but that is going to cost me to post it back, probably in excess of £20!

I just want to cancel the order and be shot of them, but I feel this turning into a nightmare. Especially as they have already taken the money from my credit card for this order!

Can anyone help?

Can anyone help?

Re: Aria.co.uk help me cancel my order please!

Have a look at their T&Cs, link at the bottom of their web page.

You have the right to cancel up to 7 days after receiving the goods. There's plenty of smallprint though.

PC systems are built to customer specifications and the following cancellation charges apply: Stage Custom Build and built-to-order

Paperwork Stage £10
Component Items Picked £15
Build has commenced £45
Build has been completed £55
It looks like they will clobber you for £55 in cancellation charges

Quote:
Non-faulty items returned to our premises complete in the original packaging together with manuals and software disks within 7 working days of purchase may obtain a credit note.
They also say that if you return non faulty goods you will only be entitled to a credit note which has a six month expiry date.

Re: Aria.co.uk help me cancel my order please!

Thanks for that lads. Surely the distance selling regulation is in addition to any "rights" they grant me?

I should be able to just flatly return anything in accordance to that legislation shouldn't I?

Re: Aria.co.uk help me cancel my order please!

According to the Distance Selling Regulations the right to cancel does not apply to personalised goods or goods made to a consumer's specification. I'm not sure about PC's but if you specified exactly what you wanted in the PC they may be able to claim that it was made to your specification.

Oh shoot.

I don't have a problem with what I ordered just a problem with the terrible lack of customer service

Thanks for the advice though.
