My rabbit is being harassed by a cat. Help?
My cute little rabbit runs freely in the back garden (Though I lock her up at night).
I saw a ginger cat corner her a while ago, and I ran outside and the rabbit flew into the house and hid in the furthest corner of my lounge. After that I ensured that I didnt let her out much unless I was around the garden, but felt sorry for her.
Since then I have let her out a bit, but I can tell that the rabbit is getting harassed because now she is so jumpy everytime I appear around the corner.
A minute ago I just found the cat with a paw in the rabbit hutch fishin around. Luckily the rabbit was around the corner by my back door.
Any idea how I can keep the cat at bay? Dont want to make the rabbit run around a tiny run, or use a sonic thing that may upset other dogs in the road,.. or my budgies.
My rabbit is easy prey.. because she is deaf

Use a super soaker style water gun, go for the cat whenever you see it

Re: My rabbit is being harassed by a cat. Help?
isnt there something about cats that they are considered a pest because they arent kept in the home? i know a cat isnt always seen in the same way as a dog, yes it might belong to someone but its still a pest. You wouldnt allow someone to let thier dog into your garden for no reason. I know its cruel but i feel like airgunning the cats that try for my carp (Even though steve, my big ghost carp could easily take down a cat)
some warning shots to the cat might help

Get Kazman to bring Mr Staypuff round , that'll sort the cat out . Probably the rabbit too

LOL.. the sentry turrets seem a great idea for my own amusement. However I really want something that will help out while I am still not around.
Need to research the ultrasonic... dont want it upsetting my budgies, or the rabbit. Although it appears deaf to normal sounds I guess its possible that it can hear ultrasonic?

I've heard that Tiger Dung can be used to keep cats at bay (or is this an urban myth?). That's if there's a zoo nearby, though it's debatable whether you'd want to use your own garden after spreading some of this around.

But consider the effect on bunny, it's bad enough having to watch outy for a domestic cat that might pounce without having heart palpitations at the thought of a tiger lurking
