Xbox 360 Sound Issues

This is my first post!

I got a Philips 23PF4321 this morning, and already have problems...
First, I've ordered a HD VGA cable as the connections on the back did not include RGB.
Second, I now realise that the sound may not work when I plug in the VGA cable (into adapter, as it's DVI-I on the TV) This is because the red and white audio bits are not present! Would I be able to plug the red and white cables into a SCART slot and still get sound? Here's the TV:

Please help, I've waited a year for HD Gaming, it could now be longer!

Re: Xbox 360 Sound Issues

you need to get a rca to 3.5mm jack adapter to convert the two phono leads into the jack connector this can then go in to the pc sound input on the tv and you should get sound if it is like my old philips tv that is.

Hate to tell you this but the DVI does not carry sound, you would need to have the audio either feed into a surround amp or other external audio source. If you piped it into the scart socket you would need to have the scart selected as the input on the TV therefore losing the video feed

Re: Xbox 360 Sound Issues

I've solved it, I pluged the sound into different av sockets, and though the xbox didn't run in HD mode, it did act as a PC for the TV, therefore it still runs a HD picture, and also, strangely but luckily, the sound for the PC channel comes from the last channel you were on, so I select AV first, then PC, with the sound plugged into AV, and it works perfectly! Pure luck if you ask me...THanks to those who tried to help with other methods though!
