It is USUALLY Parcel Force, I order a lot of stuff from the US and if shipped via USPS it is usually Parcel Force.

Hope this helps!

Just been through the same ebay issue as yourself.
Custom charges ????

Have just paid £31.25 which I thought was good.

What ebay seller did you buy from ? Was it electronics-store (5314)

Re: Usps!!!

Does not matter, the gift marking can increase the value ( ~£32) they let through but they (Customs) are not daft..

Re: Usps!!!

For info the correct amount of duty for a DVD player imported from the US is 14% of the value (including shipping, insurance, etc.) plus 17.5% VAT on the value + duty, then Parcel Force or Royal Mail will add a handling fee for the collection of duty. I think this is on a sliding scale and will be £10-£20.

Called and spoke with a lady who just asked for my name and address. She found parcel and asked how I wanted to pay for customs charge. Credit card out £31 something paid and now being delivered tomorrow. She also asked for an email address as I now have comfirmation email as well

Re: Usps!!!

Unrelated to PS3, but very pertinent to this conversation ...

I recently ordered a pair of snowboard bindings from an online store in the US, who shipped them USPS International Express to the UK. Here's my little tracking saga.

Attempted Delivery Abroad, January 26, 2007, 6:16 pm, NETHERLANDS
Arrived Abroad, January 26, 2007, 6:16 pm, NETHERLANDS
International Dispatch, January 25, 2007, 10:13 am, SAN FRANCISCO AMC
Enroute, January 25, 2007, 10:13 am, SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94128
Enroute, January 24, 2007, 7:05 pm, OAKLAND, CA 94615
Electronic Shipping Info Received, January 23, 2007

Everything from International Dispatch upwards was added this morning (30th Jan). Why, oh why, have they made a delivery attempt in THE NETHERLANDS!!!!! What are the chances of me now seeing this parcel ever? Has anyone got any experience of this? Is it perhaps that the Netherlands is a euro hub for inbound deliveries from the US?
