Speeding Fine

Hi
Wife got caught and sent licence and cheque to cover fine 2nd on August but has heard nothing since. The cheque has not been cashed. Should we be worried? Who do we contact to make sure cheque and licence are in and being processed?

Thx
Ossie

Re: Speeding Fine

I'd check ASAP. Her licence is in there, and before long you get into all sorts of admin problems. Not your fault, just the sheer amount of red tape can be quite daunting.

Re: Speeding Fine

Did you send the licence and the cheque by registred or recorded mail? which means someone has to sign for it at the other end. If thats not the case, Tom the piano man is right I will contact them as soon as possible you could also end up being fined for not responding within certain time(s) given.
Regards.

I suggest your wife gets into her car, and really puts her foot down to get to the payment office ASAP

Thanks, but she's not sure of the address and even if she did she does not have her licence since it was in the envelope to be endorsed

I think she off to clink

Re: Speeding Fine

Just ring the DVLA in Swansea (likely where it went) or the Police authority who nabbed her

How about the address you send it to in the first place as it all depends where you were caught

Personally I wouldn't worry about the cheque, but be paranoid about the license as it is basically an identity card....

Re: Speeding Fine

I had something pretty simnilar, went to court for driving offenses. And they sent my license back through the post unrecorded late, after chasing them up they confirmed they sent it but I hadnt recieved it, and guess what... they told me It was MY resposibility, fortunatly it came through a few days later, but it is nice to know if they send your license back unrecorded and it gets lost - they dont give a dam.

Re: Speeding Fine

Good news got it back. Guess they were extra busy processing all those tickets.
Guess we can expect a tax cut in the next budget
