converting WMV to mpeg

hi, i downloaded some videos in wmv - i presume i need to convert to mpeg to be able to burn to dvd on nero (i presume win media won't let me burn to dvd)

sorry if being really stoopid.

Can anyone confirm of a free (and ad/spyware supplier) converter so i can convert from wmv.

thanks.

Nero Vision Express (version 6 or 7) will allow you to do this.

Nero will convert them, as part of the burning process.
