Day out tomorrow in Midlands Area??

Was thinking of taking my German cousin (17) out somewhere in the midlands area tomorrow.

Not got any idea what to do

She's has no sense of humour, hard to please don't talk much

She'll be returning to Germany Monday (thank god) so tomorrow's the last day I can take her somewhere.

Any ideas for a day out

Sea life centre is good, so is the safari park and Dudly Zoo. The black country museum is fun too. If they are not your scene, alton towers is always good for a day out.

Did Alton Towers the other day.

apart from the fact that practically every ride was closed at one time or another (not to mention the Monorail and Skyrides as well ). it was ok.

Not sure how close a cousin though all she talks about is getting back to her boyfriend so won't be getting too close i wouldn't have thought! Don't think i've ever met anyone so cold and clinical.

She reminds me of that Ice Queen from Narnia

May be a looker but she's a right pain in the

Just did is as a favour to my Mum and her brother (his daughter).

I wouldn't recommend the Safari Park in August for someone who is hard going as it can take two hours of stop start motoring to get round and that won't be much fun with someone who's "hard to please and doesn't talk much"

Warwick Castle is a good day out though but maybe a bit pricey.

Point taken about the Safari Park.

I did mention London but I told her she would have to pay her way (i've paid for everything else this week) but she said it was too expensive

I can definitely recommend Drayton Manor. We went there on Tuesday and a great day out was had. How people go on some of the rides amazes me. The rides start at 10.30 so i'd get there early to get all the rides in. The zoo isn't too bad either, if you like them.

Twycross zoo is pretty good. Dudley zoo is a bit of a hole these days and has suffered from, erm shall we say a lack of investment.

Black country museum is great, well worth a day out. As already mentioned drayton manor and alton towers are good but a little pricey. Safari park is pretty good too.

Stratford upon avon is pretty nice. Brindley place in brum city centre is ok, loads of art galleries and eateries and the sea life centre and the bullring are only a few minutes walk.

Can't really think of anywhere else.

The caverns are really good, I think that's the great thing about the museum. The whole approach is very hands on, you can even have a pint in the pub.

You could always take her to the RAF Cosford museum and show her some of her countrymen's planes that were shot down over blighty.

Best zoo in Midlands is????

Ok, i'll check back on the previous posts later (have to go out for 2 hours).

She's used to the Zoo where you drive and see everything. I'm easy, as long as I don't get any Monkeys climbing on my new car, anything will do for me. get to practive my photography a little maybe as well.

For driving, west midlands safari park in bewdley, near kidderminster. Also has a fair few rides and stuff. They have a monkey section that can be avoided if you wish but every time i've been the little blighters were nowhere to be seen anyway.

None driving easily twycross, loads of primates but it is just a zoo rather than a theme park. Dudley zoo's ok really and it has the castle as an added bit of history.

Good news (unless you like monkeys ripping your car apart) is that, unless it has changed for this summer, the monkeys are gone. It's only the rhinos charging your car to worry about now.

Went to Dudley Zoo last year, real crap place, not much there and all hills too.Twycross Zoo also crap.
My favourite would be Drayton Manor Park, bit pricey but lots to do there.
Or take her to a Football Match !

Twycross zoo is mainly apes/monkeys, but they do have lions, girraffes, elephants, leopards etc and more monkeys and apes. - does she like primates?
Dudley zoo is an ageing tip
Drayton Manor zoo is small, but the park bit is great.
W Mids Safari park would be a good bet, there's rides, a smallish zoo and the safari bit

Lots of 'farms' but they are geared towards youg children.

best zoo I've been to is Paignton, but that is no use to you

it depends, they are all 'out' - rhino, lions, wolves, giraffes.....
you haven't got a convertible have you?

the tigers are kept in an enclosure which you drive by.

The monkeys/apes at WMSP used to trash your car (bend aerials, peel off rubber surrounds and trim, dump on your bonnet etc), but I think they had a virus a few years ago and they were wiped out.
I went there 2 years ago, and we were fine (company car mind you ) they had a few (new?) monkeys which did not bother us, the wolves stayed hidden, and big cats were eating large chunks of meat, so were fine too.
They give you food to feed some animals.
