Internet on the move

I've no idea if this is the right place to post this, but I've just bought a new toy that I'm over the moon about.

It's a T-mobile data card. (Other makes are available). It's basically a card that plugs into your laptop, and enables you to access the internet anywhere where there is mobile network coverage.

It's brilliant! I'm using it to post this. The connection speed is reasonable (especially as I'm currently sat in a field full of cows) and its apparently a lot better in areas with 3G coverage.

HDTV? Old news. This is a way more impressive technology. How much? £20 a month, for an 18 month contract, with up to 2gig download a month, and the card is free.

About 5 years ago, this would have seriously done your head in. Isn't it amazing how quickly technology moves?

its definitely correct it is tmobiles web and walk packages. you can get a 7.50 add on to existing contracts for the same amount. 2gb. blows all others out of the water.

also coming in august is a deal with payg customers where data will be a maximum of one quid a day at 0.73p per kb.

the big benefit is if you access internet via your 3g phone it will transfer at those speeds at no extra cost. and when hsdpa comes out at the end of this year it will be awesome.

That's interesting. What's the price while roaming in Europe?
