Categorised For Sale/Wanted Forum - Good Idea?

Just a thought, and to stop all the people selling items from posting in there own threads to get there ad back to the top, wouldn't it be a good idea to have categories within the for sale and wanted forums?

Here are the categories I would recommend (thanks ebay!!)

Is there any chance of a categorised For Sale forum?
Perhaps a seperate for sale forum for

Voted NO

The trading forum was split a wee while ago into AV Sales, Non AV Sales, Computer parts etc...

I personally don't think any more sub groups are required.

I agree. Any more sub-divisions will just make it too confusing. You only have to look at some of them now, where items have been posted in the wrong group... and how many groups are there? A damn site less than you're proposing

Too many categories wouldn't work.

At the moment with the few categories, people browsing for something, may see something completely different that catches their eye and then buy it.

If you have loads of categories, people will mostly look in the category that interest them, leaving a lot of classified ads unseen by most people.

Not too mention, having all those forums would be a nightmare to moderate.

Don't think of it as a nightmare... more as a challenge

also what do you do if you have 5 or 6 things to sell? its one thing keeping an eye on a number of threads you participate in for general use, but when you have to keep your eye on sales ones out of fairness it could get quite frustrating for folks who might not be as adept as others when multi-tasking......

i have to admit i seem to have lost my own edge......i used to be able to keep track of 4 or 5 forums, 5 or 6 msn/icq conversations plus a couple of chatrooms all at once, while i was streaming live music..........nowadays if someone interrupts me writing a single thread it all goes to pot...LOL

Bad idea, but I wouldn't mind seeing a seperate forum for Mobile Phone sales/trades/wants because they seem to account for around 75% of the entries in 'non-av' just now

Fair point. If there was to be any further sub-division it would have to be for the phones.

Personally prefered it when there was only a single catagory as I just browse rather than looking for anything in particular.
