my day from hell.. and it isn't even bed time yet...ugh
For those who are yet to become parents.. have no intention of ever being a parent, this is not the thread for you. For those who are expecting a baby this might be the thread for you (if only to warn you), and for those of you who have already reproduced and know where I am coming from with this thread, read on !! It takes a parent to know what sort of day i have had !
I went to work last night... and then hubby sent me a text saying the baby was throwing up everywhere and that he needed me to come home asap. So I raced home to find the house stinking of puke, hubby stinking of puke, baby stinking of puke, and both of them sitting there bright eyed and bushy tailed watching Paycheck on sky movies. So.. I got the baby over to sleep within an hour or so with no further sickness, but slept with one ear open because he really was not well and I didn't want him to choke in his sleep. Today, I have spent the whole day doing the laundry, cleaning up puddles of puke and poo and scrubbing his toys and walker after he 'christened' them. The washing machine has been on back to back with clothes, bedding, more clothes, pillows, quits, you name it, if it was inamimate and smelt of puke then it was in the machine. I just spent the last 2 hours cleaning his car seat, hosing it down outside because it was literally dripping with vom, and washing the car seat cover in the washing machine too. Have shampoo'd the living room rug, and the car carpet and seat. I have a mountain of ironing to do tonight and I have zero energy to get the older 2 to bed let alone sort the baby out with a bath to get rid of the puke stink !
So.. if you have a day to top that, then i feel sorry for you. In the mean time.. will someone please come and do my ironing, or give me a hand with these kids ? Hubby will not be home from work til 11pm
For those who are expecting a baby.... there is no greater piece of equipment to get than a carpet shampooer when you have kids. You simply cannot live without them.

Oh the joys of parenthood. A womans job, or mans in my case, is never done. You never know whats round the corner. Hope babys ok now.
Our youngest wakes up in the night and gets into bed with me. One night at 2am i had the contents of his daily diet deposited onto my face, pillow and wall I just thought he was restless because of the heat.

serves you right for putting out you brazen hussy
The technique is to have the child then run off for 3 yrs and come back claiming you were kidnapped by slave traders.
That way you get past the early poo patrols and terrible 2's ... mind you, it may actually best to stay away for 20 or 30 years ... let them get a job and a mortgage before you return

Had he just read your 'I'm being stalked' thread ?!! If so, I know how he felt !!
p203557 - all the best to you and your partner. It's a very exciting time, and yep.. the parents of this forum will unite in saying 'NOTHING will prepare you for any of it !!.... you have never known lack of sleep like it !!!' Hope your gal has an easy time in the labour ! (OOH.. the pain.. they say you forget.. it's a myth !)
Sean - that's a lovely story, thank you for sharing ! I am sure you looked like the black and white minstrels when you returned from changing her !! Hubby got a load deposited up his trouser leg by our daughter years ago. I was laughing so hard he got annoyed that I did not jump up and help him !!
Ethics - there will be no more, that is a promise !!!!

that ironing pile is huge... really huge. wonder if I can hide it somewhere, maybe it will go away... until hubby starts looking for his trousers I guess.. then they will be found behind the sofa.. or under the recliner where there is plenty of room !!
Baby is bathed now... and the other two are on their way to bed. Baby is not a happy chap though... wonder if he will keep his milk down tonight.. ugh...
(it's not so much the puke that is upsetting me, but the fact that he is feeling so poorly and I can't make him feel much better.... )

Mr AutomanUK is going to love the title of this thread .
Also just noticed your inviting members of a predominantly male forum round to give you a hand , advising that hubby is not home 'til 11 .
What with this , and mentioning Christmas in June , I feel a shortening of the chin coming
John

I was not inviting any particular gender... I was just asking for someone to come and do my ironing !! If they happen to be male, that is ok. If they happen to be female that is ok too. When Harry Met Sally is on, so I will be watching that, and way too tired for anything else !!! You just have a dirty mind Johnscarlet. Would you care to step into my washing machine along with everything else that has been in there today !

We've got 4 kids ranging from 4yrs to 10yrs.
Hence know exactly where you are coming from.
Oh, and a mad labrador puppy that pukes, poos and wees in the kitchen most mormings.
Fun.
Ditch the carpets is my advice.
And buy a big lock for the AV room.

What I didn't get is what was wrong with MrAutoMan such that he was able to watch a movie, but not able to clean up the mess?
Sorry to hear about it, but I can truly say that I/We've been there....Menningitis at 10 days old, then severe projectile vomitting for 3-4 months (the poltergeist was gentle compared to our daughter)....The next one is due Friday a week, so lets see whats happening then...
But tell your Hubby to get join in the cleaning, I do as well
