Anyone been to Shaibah Iraq????

Hi guys,
I'm in the Navy & lucky old me has a draft to Shaibah in Iraq next April, I must have upset someone as I fly out the week before my birthday!!

I was wondering is there anyone else on here in the military who's been out there & can tell me what the facilities are like e.g. naafi etc?? All I know at the mo is that I'll be working somewhere near the field hospital.

Cheers.

Can't offer any advice as never been, just wanted to say good luck and get home safe. Politicians are but I have nothing but respect for the men and women of the armed forces. Tough job, not great pay and little or no thanks but you are all appreciated. Don't want to get into the rights and wrongs of Iraq etc. Not the place for it. Just look after yourself and your mates.

Yes, all the very best mate, I've a close friend who's doing a tour of duty over there.

As the previous poster says, just look after yourself and your mates, good luck

Cheers guys, so far from what I've been told it will be a quiet draft were I'll be based so hopefully it will be an easy 6 months & the money I save I can blow on more big boys toys when I get back, lol.
