Epson CX5400 printer - poor print quality

Hi chaps

Any ideas about my problem ?

I have an Epson CX5400 all in one printer which does not print either colour very well, or text. The colours arewashed out (as if one of the cartridges is not active), and text isprinted with horizontal lines.

I have run the nozzle check, head alignment and the head cleaning routines - but to no avail. This is all the Epson website recommends you to do.

Ths has happened since I installed some 'non-original; cartridges from a site recommeded on this forum. I thought nothing of it at the time, as I did not use it much, however it has got progressivly worse so I have bought some Tesco's own replacement (which 'can be used in absolute confidence as a replacement for the original').

However, I get the same problem - arethe print heads builtintothe cartridges i.e.replacedwhen the carts are replaced, or are they in the printer - if so, can these be cleaned manually, in case of dried ink etc ?

Any ideas ?

Cheers

Send it on a holiday to the wheelie bin, and buy a Canon or an HP

epson R series or a canon bubblejet. Hate HP printers and ive used a lot of all makes. Seperate inks if possible. Canon inks wont dry or clog up your heads so if you dont use your printer much they are sometimes the best bet.
Epson printers need a couple of pages put through them every week to stop them going poo
