looks more like a scam - ebay normally use your ebay ID in the salutation line, and will never put a 'click here to update you info' in it...

be very careful

The best way to check is just to log into ebay, and go into your account details from there, and if it is an official ebay message (which seems unlikely) then it will appear in your messages in there.

It's a scam!!
I got an email from "NatWest" only today asking me to update my details. Bin it and forget about it. Like Opticon said there should be a message in your ebay messages.

Yeah, got one from ebay last night saying an they had been notified by a seller that an item I had won hadn't been paid for and so I'd had a non-payment strike on my account. If I wanted to remove the strike, or have it removed, I should login using the link in the email. Yeah, right.

I went to my ebay account and guess what, nothing about a non-payment strike. Also did a search for the item number stated in the email, nothing. And no reference to it in any items I'd bought from email either. I forwarded the email to spoof@ebay.co.uk, which I would advise you to do as well.

Not official, totally bogus. No reputable company will ever send an email with a link asking you to update confidential info, so delete the email and forget about it!

Cheers

Kevin.

Yup, simple rule, never ever ever ever click in an email with anything to do with any of your internet accounts. Always open up a new browser and type in the URL yourself and then log into you account.

All official Ebay communications will be addressed to the name that you gave when you joined, and they will never ask for your account details by email. Most of these scams are bulk-mailed, so they won't be addressed to you by name.

ebay would always use your ebay trading name, and there would be a dupliate email within the 'my ebay' messages too. it's a scam so delete it !! Likewise any paypal ones !

It sounds very much like the real thing actually.
you will find that one day when you want to go onto ebay you won't be allowed.
Then you will have to go through the proccess that you are being asked to do in the email.
I didn't believe it when i got the same email, but when a few days later they blocked my account I had to do exactly what the email asked.
but to be on the safe side don't do it until they block you.Your account is unblocked the second you update your details, so there would be no problem with missing an item.

ALL Ebay communications are addressed to the user name you registered with. They do not address e-mails to account numbers !

So, it's a spoof, OK ?
