Problem with Ipod Shuffle

As always I am in need of some IT knowledge.

Whenever I plug my ipod shuffle in to my pc, the cpu usage goes to 100% and it becomes impossible to do anything.

Any suggestions?

Give this a try, go into

Control Panel
System
Hardware Tab
Device manager
Universal Serial Bus Controllers

and delete/uninstall all the devices (just the USB ones )

Aftre that right click on you computer at the top of your devices list and left click "scan for hardware changes".

Win xp will then refind the USB ports/controllers and set them up again.

See if this helps.

P.s. I am assuming you are running Win XP of course.

Regards
Martin

Russ i had the problem. You may be plugging it into a usb1 it works but takes ages. Try a usb2 if that does not work. Try the firewire cable.
