Dead in flat. 2yrs

Been watching news on tv, The story about the women dead in her flat for 2yrs. It said on news that the tv and heating were on. The council went round for rent arrears and found her. How come she still had the TV and heating going without paying for it for two years. If I dont pay in seven days theres all sorts of letters. So much for neighbourhood watch.

I thought it was three years - read on Teletext that some of her unopened mail dated back to 2003!

wonder what make the tv was, if it lasted 2 years of 24hr a day viewing that is quite a selling point.

Mmm ... not sure the ASA would allow the manufacturer to advertise the TV using the scenario that revealed its staying power though, eh?

Very sad situation indeed! Very sad that no one had gone round to check on her. Family, home help, neighbours, friends etc etc. Very sad indeed but unfortunately, not entirely unsual.

See the previous previous post. Very strange that no one noticed for 2 years. She had family as well. How must they feel.

So sad.

It does make you wonder about family, friends and neighours keeping an eye on each other in a nice way and the situation she may have been in.

Bless her.
