Just got a call from the gf on her way home. As she drove under a bridge, she saw a young teenager hanging onto the rear of a tube train as it sped over the bridge!

Is it really worth risking your life to save on the underground fee?

Edit: Of course, i know it should say "Who says" and not "You Says"

I lived in Indonesia for 1 year when I was younger. People used to sit on top and hang off the side of Buses and Trains. I did see someone fall off once, the bus was going round a corner and hit a pot hole.

The overcrowding on the trains is to blame.

I don't think penny-pinching or overcrowding had anything to do with it: he was doing this because it was dangerous, and he wanted the thrill of doing something dangerous (or possibly wanted to show off to someone by having them watch him do it).

Of course this is still equally stupid, regardless of his motivations.

Yup.
However really dumb that sort of thing seems to us it is a shame that that child did not have the chance to learn from his mistake.
That said i throw myself out of planes and off of things with a rubber band attached to my feet with surprising regularity. Most of my family believe i am both stupid and old enough (35) to know better .

it is a shame that he didnt live to learn from his mistake, at least your rsik is calculated and to a certain degree safe, climbing on top of a train is nothing but stupid and dangerous, and can and does lead to death
