Do you value your privacy? Read this!

This is not a joke email, there are no funny pop-ups...

A website has been brought to my attention that may pose a risk. The
website is www.b4usearch.com and by clicking on 'People' and typing in
an individuals name and area it brings up their home address, phone
number, details of other members in the household, details of neighbours
in the same street and also directions to your home.

If your details can be accessed via this website,
you can have them removed. To do this send an email to
privacy@b4u.co.uk and your request should be removed within 21 days if
they are not removed within this time you can complain to the
Information Commissioner's Office by sending an email to
compliance@ico.gsi.gov.uk

(and 192.com)

Please pass this on to others you may consider it is useful to....

Indeed, that is what these companies do. You can still request they remove your information as quite often they will change it a little to get around addresses listed in the MPS lists and then sell it on.

I don't think it is. They buy the information from the government. The same is done through Companies House, who sell directors information to interested parties....hehe, is that tax on your information or the government just profiting off your information? Should be even better when they do ID cards.

I didn't realise that they sold electoral role information and that database is subsequently searchable online

If I showed that to my mum or granny they would freak, simply helping them reaffirm their belief that the Internet is the tool of the devil.

this wont be the only website to do this and tbh you would never find all the outlets for your 'private' information. just hink twice before signing up to receive 'free' goods as details like these is a massive business.

You're worried about this?

What about ID cards?

How so?

You can see the electrol roll at the local town hall, and you don't need the internet.
