Worth Selling?

A few months back my all-in-one player blew up and stopped playing discs. I've finally got around to taking it to a repair shop who've said it's not worth repairing.

Rather than throw everything away is it worth trying to flog the speakers/sub? They have proprietary connectors on but I've been told that bit can be cut off and the wires plugged into an amp (no idea if that's true or not!).

Basically I hate waste so am loath to just bin them. I'm guessing eBay is out simply because of what they would cost to post, so my question is - "is there a market - perhaps local paper free ads - for speakers/sub"? Not looking to get rich BTW but enough to cover my BB King ticket would be nice

cheers

You could aways try FreeCycle (www.freecycle.org) it's mostly people trying to give things away to a good home, but you do get some people asking for a small cash donation for items...

i would reqest you to decline and also inform the moderator of the group. I never charge and think it spoils the idea.

I wouldnt rule out Ebay.... I had a TV which could only be bought with a stand... I didnt need the stand so it remained boxed in the garage. I was going to chuck it out (as everyone with the matching TV will have had a stand) but looked on ebay and they were being sold for a decent price. I sold mine for £55 excluding the £15 p&p.... no idea why they wanted it but they paid up quickly and no problems.

Wait until the weather's a bit warmer and try your local car boot sale. I always find it astounding the cr*p people sell at these.

And my wife always finds it astounding the cr*p i buy there..................
