Am I the only one having a bad Friday 13th?

This morning was just generally bad - what with one thing and another (one of those days where nothing goes right and nothing's good enough), but now the Router that was supposed to be delivered by CityLink has now been lost by them! When I asked what they are doing about it - silence. When I asked how that helps me, they suggested I ask the company to send another one (obviously, by CityLink).

I'm just waiting for a tube crisis or a train cancellation now......Followed by my DVD blowing up. I can sense a VERY early night coming on.

Anyone else or am I alone in this?

I had a telephone call from one of the finance companies that I deal with to tell me very apologetically that they had made a mistake in calculating the commission due to me in August last year and if I cared to send them an invoice for £2,050 they would pay it straight away.

I wish it were Friday 13th every day

Clearly just me then.

I'd buy a bar of chocolate to release some endorphins but knowing how my luck is today, I'd get to the shop and Ferrero Rocher would be the only ones there.

Or Kinder Surprise.

Well I was happily browsing the posts when my brain slowly became aware of a rather pleasant smell.Unfortunately 20 minutes later it even more slowly became aware of a rather unpleasant smell. There goes tonight's dinner! It would have been pork with a rather nice Marsala and chestnut sauce, but the sauce has just been cremated! Are these posts addictive or what?Still,if that's the worst Friday 13th can throw at me I won't complain.

Kelvin, sorry to hear that, all the best for your mum.

Well today, we managed to finally get our blocked drains cleared after failing yesterday, but was left with the unsavoury task of shovelling unsavoury matter from our back yard for 20 minutes afterwards... :stinksmiley:

My calf muscle went again as in tried to avoid the traffic- little sprint across the rd.Aaaaargh! On top of that my neck continues to play up ; vertebrea that is. Got to see the physio next week. Useless quack tells me its arthritis but I dont believe him. More like a bulging a disc.Aggravated it yesterday by trying to remove some shrubs. One day I shall learn I'm no longer 22

Thanks for all the positive replies everyone, and apologies for taking over the thread with my own problems; my frustration got the better of me. The news has come at a bad time (not that there can ever really be a a "good" time) - i'm getting married next Saturday and it now looks like Mum will be undergoing Chemo (as of Tuesday) and wil be in isolation as a result

Still, she's fought it once, and i'm going to remain positive that the treatment will be a success again - life's too short to spend it worrying.

Thanks everyone for your support. It really is very much appreciated

Dear Kelvin
One of my best friends had leukemia and is doing fab now. Your mum has gotten over it once so she can do it again - us mums are made of strong stuff.

No need to apologise . You havent taken over anything. We all go through bad times and you are simply sharing yours. I hope your wedding goes ok and your mother recovers
