Mobile phone contract cancellation issues

OK, so this thread - Cancel contract, still being charged - this happens often? isn't getting much attention in the forum it's in, probably wasn't the best place to ask - has anyone else had trouble with people like this and what did you do about it?

What are the details of the contract, was it a 12 or 18 months, has the term finished?

I had problems with Orange also when i cancelled my phone contract (two months after it had ran its statutory minimum period). Fortunately, i kept a written record of every phone call. At one point, my balance was in credit, and they had filed a non payment in my credit record, which i made sure was rectified.

Took me three months of wrangling for this to be sorted out. Glad i had things detailed though, as i'd imagine i would still have been arguing with them if I hadn't.

Have a Google on the web, i'm sure there's several web sites which post the 'high heid yins' contact details for big companies like this.

OK, subjectively, is this a matter for OFTEL? It obviously happens often as they think they can get away with ignoring a cancellation request.....

I tried to cancel my contract with 3 today, but they kept offering me better and better deals until I signed a new one
