Ebay query

I bought this stealth shelf for my car on ebay on friday, but this morning still hadn't heard anything from the seller despite emailing her on friday to ask when it will arrive.

So I sent her another message this morning, again asking when it will arrive. A short while later I received a reply saying the shelf I have bought is currently out of stock (the auction was advertising shelfs for all sorts of car, and you state which one you want after you have bidded), and she sent me an email on friday after I bought it which said that (which I never received). Apparantly it will be 3 to 4 weeks before they come into stock, and she said she will keep me updated.

So what shall I do? I don't really mind the wait, but I hope she is telling the truth and isn't trying to rip me off.

What do you think?

Also I did email about a week before I bought it, to check it was in stock. And they were at the time.

That is a **** take IMHO. I'd ask for an immediate refund. It's an auction site for christ's sake!

You could report it to ebay. they don't like people who take their customers for a ride and will ban them if you don't get any satisfaction

Got to agree with GG

People should only be able to list Items they own.

Steve54r I think youll find there actual policy is 'We dont care if you take our customers for a ride as long as we get our commision and listing fees'

Seems a really good price for a stealth shelf wouldnt mind one me self

Isn't there something in the auction rules, that state you can't auction something you not physically have.

i would ask for a refund as suggested above, the only downside is ebay rarely do anything to help. if they refuse to give the refund then you can use the usual threat you will get ebay involved, i just hope people dont start to realise how useless ebay actually are

On the phone they are quite good and usually sort out problems while you wait.

Hi, could you share this number with us since it appears ebay doesn't much like handing out their phone numbers... also will that be a premium rate no?

Treated bad, and I'm sure the rules say you must be in posession of the goods.
Look at the latest problems they enforced with the XBOX 360 as no-one owned one!!!!

Well I emailed them and stated that I would like a refund, which they were happy to give considering the circumstances.

How long would a refund through paypal take to go into an HSBC solo account?

They said they would do it, and I got a couple of automated emails from ebay/paypal regarding the cancelled order, so I assumed it had gone through.

This was monday, still no money in my bank....

I usually have to wait up to two weeks to get anything out of my paypal account I should imagine the same will apply for refunds
