i was thinking the other day about how ordinary life can be some times. but not all the time sometimes you have highlights that are sinply unforgettable what are the hightlights of you life?

mine:
  • Marrying Mrs D
  • the birth of my two girls
  • Divorcing Mrs D
  • Marrying Mrs D again (we had a row - it got out of hand)
  • Spending a day on Carribean beach in a hammock with a large bag of the local "herbs" totally alone (except for Mrs D in the smallest bikini i've ever seen)
  • Seeing the Blue Nile live
  • Getting a degree
  • there are a few more but how can put this - there personal
so what are yours?

Completely agree. My cousin married and they had a son. A few years later they divorced but still kept in touch because of the son. They realised that they still wanted to be with each other and remarried last year with the 10 year old son being the best man.

Getting married.

Standing at the top of the main pyramid in Chichen Itza and the view literally taking my breath away!

Being launched into the air on the ride at the top of The Stratosphere in Las Vegas!

Circling the Grand Canyon in a 40 year old plane the size of a transit van!

Building the greatest sledge run in the history of mankind with my brothers...

Not adding your Birthday trip to the list Gary ?

Mine would be similar to yours, except that I've only married Mrs P. once (although when short of excuses for a party we've often joked about getting divorced).

I've never seen BN live either

One of mine was taking my daughter to a special childhood place of mine that I hadn't visited for nearly thirty years and finding her just as fascinated and absorbed by it as I had been. It was like reliving the wonderful 'Donging the Tower' short story by Brian Friel.

Not sure of highlights, but my earliest memory is being in a pub in Sligo, Eire aged three and a half on the night the news broke that Elvis had died.

I probably had barely a clue who Elvis was at the time and I can't tell you exactly what it was like in the pub....but clearly an entire building of people drowning their sorrows created a big enough impression on me to think "Hang on, this is important stuff"

That was probably just a convienent excuse for that particular evening Big Adam.

It's quite likely that your experience would have been equally memorable had no significant event occured that day
