Nuts - Soft porn?

Geez. I was in asda today wanting to pick up a copy of What HiFi, which was out today.

I noticed it on a trolly the staff were unpacking to place on the units so I had 5 mins to wait until he got down to What Hifi so I decided to have a flick through Nuts for the first time....there was some Sophie woman on the front that looked to have a cracking set of dougals!

Anyway I opened it up expecting to see some discrete just covered up pictures and I got a bonus of dougals everywhere throughout the magazine .

In my day this would have been top shelf material and I would have had to buy it with a copy of a car magazine or similar to place above it whilst taking it to the till!!!

I am not sure what to think these days!! I guess I'm getting old in my ways.

The world's just becoming more jaded - we're no longer shocked by certain things because of a gradual over exposure to them (no pun intended!), largely through the mass media. Before long, we'll be watching XXX Dutch porn straight after Celebrity Come Dancing (er ... also no pun intended ...)!

Sex sells and its about shifting units to keep shareholders happy. Its the same everywhere - people are only interested in numbers, not morals or the community.

Sophie Howard- certainly a well built young thing. I don't find these "Heat for Men" mags much fun really- I get all the HiFi Mags for free and simply buy real porn.

I dislike mags like Nuts simply because they're pornlite. Aimed at those who haven't the bottle to buy real porn.

Myself, I will happily walk into my local newsagent, look the assistant directly in the eye, and state in a clear and confident voice "I want you to sell me a copy of Big Gazongers Monthly please, for I am an uninhibited free Englishment and I am exercising my civic right to purchase photographic material depicting naked women, so I can sit in the comfort of my own home and continuously handle my privates".

I often get thrown out.

Well I went back to Asda today to purchase my copy of nuts.....purely for research purpose of course...well that's what I intend to tell the mrs!

I always wondered why I used to see spotty pre teenage boys sniggering whilst flicking through the pages! Well I guess it it wasn't this magazine it would be something like Big Brother with the sex in the jacuzzi.

I am not convinced this over exposure is particulary good for society, but then I do live in a town where the percentage of teenage pregnancies / the hoodie culture is particulary high.

Is society deteriorating? Will we be like 'Escape from New York' in 30 years in some areas??

A laugh yes? The Europeans have long been more open minded than us regards porn. The only expections being Belgium and France. Surprise then, that they are the two countries that have recently had two of the worst ever mass sex crimes uncovered. Easier access to porn and a 'collapse of society' are about as linked as Keir Hardie and Blair. I.e. not at all............

It's also laughable to link a long term problem like the so called 'hoodie culture' with porn. Most of them don't even have a computer (unless they've 'borrowed one') and most would be horrifed to be caught flicking the top shelves. The 'high level' of 'Teenage pregnancies' are actually yet another Daily Mail myth. The peak for teen pregnancies was the 60's. As the census, amongst other sources, shows. Currently primary (and in the last few years secondary) school rolls are falling nationally. If the great hordes the 'Mail' trumpets, were getting up the spout, we'd have rising, not falling, rolls

I agree with xusia. Mags like nuts heat etc are just brain dead, pornlite tat. If you want sport get a sports mag. If you're a car mad sad act get a car mag. If you want porn get surfing..............

I was merely trying to suggest this as a reflection of society at the moment rather than the cause!

Thanks for the in depth response anyway!
