Plastering Courses

Anyone know of any plastering course in the west midlands, perhaps 3 to 5 days long?

My partner has decided she wants one for her birthday and I think it'll be a good thing to try also so if anyone has any ideas or advice then fire away!!!

Thanks

Deanym,do you think your partner could have a word with mine, and while she's at it could she raise the subject of electrics/plumbing/gardening/decorating/car washing courses?

I don't think it's cheap either...the crash courses in similar things like plumbing etc are £000's aren't they?

The money is not so much the issue it's the fact we want to finish the renovation of our home, and can't get a decent plasterer for love or money! My partner is brilliant at anything she turns her hand to so I'm confident she'll do a great job but a wait of two years isn't on!!!!

Cheers for the advice though chaps.

Ha ha - we need the ceilings done first!! Hence the training!

And I'll have to think of another birthday present!

Deanym, why not try papering over the cieling with lining paper, a couple of layers will cover any largish cracks and will suffice as a temporary fix until you get hold of a plasterer.

hmmm, we've just removed unsightly paper and reboarded ourselves, just need the job done properly, plastered, painted.

I enjoyed reading that - when I was a student the closest we got was replacing some tiles in our student accomodation using christmas cake icing, we got our full deposit back, but we did recieive a phone call a short while later asking what grout we'd used!!!

Once we've learned the basics, it will happen exactly as you describe above - just need to know the few starters then on our way!!!

There is one in Yorkshire - Yorkshire School of Plastering.

there is a 3-4 day intensive coures that costs a few hundred pounds. friend of mine is having a go on it for exactly the same reasons.

Chris, thanks for the link, its exactly what we're looking for, the only snag being its location, I was hoping to get one a lot closer to Worcs, but if your mate gives positive feedback, we'd be willing to give it a go.

Thanks!
