I need them for a DVD recorder. I guess the 4x,8x,16x are all to do with PC drives. Which ones are best for me?

When researching buying a new DVD RW Drive, I came across www.cdfreaks.com

They all seem to be potty about Taiyo Yuden discs as being the very best available across the board.

SVP sell them.

Guys,

If I want them for a DVD recorder does it matter whether I go for 4x,8x or 16x?

i dont have a dvd recorder - what does it burn at

i wouldnt of thought it matters. my pioneer drive in my PC burns any speed fine upto 8x

A ritek dye is always a good sign - plus verbatim do good discs.

currently using datawrite Titanium in a spindle tub of 50 done about half so far and no coasters.

It doesn't say but it's not a copier or anything so I guess it only records in real time

If the disc itself is important then you need the services of http://www.dvdinfopro.com/

A handy prog that will actually tell you who made the disc regardless of the logo.

The tub of 25 DVD-R on Tescos shelves for example, were made by Mitsubishi Chemicals, that when you search around on the web make quite a few others and are of a very good standard.

It's important as naturally, anything you want to keep you really dont want to deteriorate over time. Remember laser rot etc?

Was going to recommend www.blankdiscshop.co.uk, but then realised that they are SVP! Always had good results with Ritek discs from them.

OK, now another dumb question....

If I record with a +R DVD recorder but don't fill the disc up, can you record on the remaining space later?
