Why did she taunt him?

96 stab wounds, 8 years in jail

Now I'm not in any way justifying what the man did, it was horrific and he deserves more than 8 years. However if you were that scared of your husband that you kept a knife under your bed....why oh why would you tell him about an affair and taunt him about his sexual prowess (or lack of it so it seems!)

taunting men about their sexual performance, is probs the most easy way for a woman to get herself a beating or killed. Maybe it's a form of suicide?
A stabbing frenzy is fairly easy to explain. On Tv you see someone strangled in 10 seconds, one stab and they die, one bullet and they die. Tv does not echo reality, and someone will "wriggle" for about 10 mins after a fatal wound. So basically the murderer keeps stabbing until they stop moving, as they think they have not "done the job" and the fear drives them on.

8 years for manslaughter with diminished reponsability seems appropriate to me.This guy must be going throuigh a very bad time and I doubt his life in prison will be a bed of roses.

Fair comment as anyone who has lost someone close to them knows and can tell you it messes you up big style. I'd hate to be in the position where I'd lost both of my parents and a sibling in a very short space of time.

Edited by Ian J for trying to circumvent the swearing filter.

Probs cos, as a policeman he knows he will be out in 5 years, and a chance of regaining the kids after. If divorced she would have, the house, 1/2 his pension, maintenance payments for a long time, and all the time in the world to poison the childrens minds against him. As someone once said, "divorce is a life sentence, murder is only 10 years if you get caught"

What I do wonder is, if one were to know the law,
how would one murder ones partner and minimise the sentence? By choosing a time when you could claim you were suffering depression, and then say you were taunted into it. Did they need witnesses to the taunting or did they just take his word for it?

Maybe he should have bombed the car up the M25 at 150mph and chucked her out.
He could say he was just familiarising himself with its high-speed door opening capabilities.

Thats sounds like strong grounds for pre-meditation.

I seriously can't see his kids wanting anything to do with him when they are older.

96 times says he says to me he lost the plot. Not really the issue here but it's going to be a nightmare for him inside, there's no way he can be protected. That he stabbed someone 96 times might mean some people will think twice about upsetting him, but others won't

I don't think I'd have the energy to stab someone 96 times, no matter how angry I was. He must be a very fit man. Why exactly would he be freed after 5-10 years? He's clearly a psychopath, "diminished responsibility" or not. He should be released into a secure mental facility until such time as doctors can absolutely sure he won't suffer another psychotic episode.

There is no way of being sure he won't commit a similar crime - stress/depression levels are not monitored by any authority. Do we have to wait until he murders another person whilst in a stressed/anguish mood before we come to our senses?

The ridiculously lenient sentencing and charges brought against the man would lead me to believe he was a high-ranking freemason. Probably had plenty of help from his numerous "brothers" in the police force & judiciary

Thats why you go in just below the ear behind the jaw bone and up into the skull and give a quick ' jiggle ' ... or for a slash, 45 degree slash towards the inner thigh from the pelvis or vice versa.

either this guy was reasonably 'clever' and purposefully traded 8 yrs for a cheap divorce and a better chance at access to his kids .... or more likely a crime of passion

Two of my favourite pressure points for hurting/controlling people!

Mr D, I once read about a similar thing to what you mentioned except a very short blade was used (so the cut wasn't deep enough to kill) up the jacksy, but the knife was then sawed through to the scrotum! Apparently the idea is that it is extremely painful and would never heal properly!

That was one of the most uncomfortable things I've ever read!!!!

Unlike american coppers our coppers have to be "fitter than the rest" admitidly the army has to have much fitter people, but in the police force if a copper cant outrun/overpower a criminal he aint much use.

Police forces are now not allowed to employ officers based on height/weight to their advantage (Tho you have to be of proportional build) but in practice its all bull lol

I dont know where people get the impression of coppers always helping other coppers to get them out the ****, maybe people watch too much of the bill and american films, but the reality is, when your a copper and the **** hits the fan, your on your own

They can't stay in the cell for 8 years, they'll get put on a protection wing at best. But that's full of nonces grasses and people who need protection from other inmates. But thats not enough protection as every one of them will hate coppers
