Warm enough?

Sitting here with a cool 36C, touching 37C in the shade. 28C in the house. The stones of the road side wall are too hot to touch and the sun has only been round that way for an hour.
The cats have all disappeared to their own favourite cool places, one in the car in the garage, one in the cellar and one, well who knows?

Still, at least today I have decided to not work, even though its a Saturday and I should be cutting gite lawns for the new arrivals - tough I'm not doing it!!! Yesterday was enough, six hours of strimming long grass in full sun and only some shade. But then it was only 34C in the shade.

The local Comice (Agricultural fair) kicks off today, fortunately I have nothing to do with it this year, two days of blisteringly hot full on sun and cold lager at 2€ per 1/4 litre.

38C now and the hint of a breeze earlier has disappeared.

Still, it is summer.

Oh Dear, does this mean we are about to get a flood of dozens of highly informative Youtube videos showing electric meters going round?

Just dug an old thermometer out of the cupboard and 44C in sun and 38C in shade.

Bloody hell its hot

I'm only 7th pint of water(ice cold from fridge) but I'm also on my 3rd pint of cider(also ice cold from fridge)

Also on 3rd shower of the day

2nd change of clothes(and soon to be 4th)

Obviously I mean 3rd.

Enjoy everyone.

I imagine it probably balances out in the winter with lower gas bills.

I think we all own dodgy thermometers Every time there's a really hot day, my Facebook is full of people saying,"Wow, 35° in Glasgow!" and stuff like that, often with pictures of their car readout or 99p thermometer or whatever. But yet, the actual measurements are nothing like that.

My air con display says it's 28° in my living room. It's way hotter outside so should be 30°+. My car says 32°. But the Met Office weather station which is about half a mile away says 28° - I believe them

I live half a mile from one of the Norfolk broads(Rockland) and also opposite the only shop for about 4 miles(and thats a very small village shop). The holiday makers that are on broads cruisers are now making their way to the shop for evening supplies(beer/food/charcoal/beer).

I didn't realise in my 42yrs of living here. Norfolk has lobsters.

Honestly, I have never seen so many very very sunburnt people in my life.

Would it not be cheaper for you to buy her an indoor coat?

...

Seriously though there is an entire segment in the outdoor clothing industry based on retaining warmth with as thin clothing as possible (google merino wool and synthetic rivals)

Brits, they'll moan about anything. Last month you lot moaned about lack of sunshine and too much rain. Now, it's too hot...

It is not too hot, it is beautiful! Go out and enjoy the weather, it won't last for long.

The outside temperature reading in my car was 33°c here in Ipswich. It hasn't felt too humid either so all in all a great day to be outside.

Perfect for a few bottles of Corona.

I don't know exactly where you are in France, but on Saturday we drove up from Périgueux to Orléans, and I switched the car from degC just to see the magic 100F on the temp display.
