Film Vault

I know that this isnt the right section for this but i'm looking to get a quick response as i'm a bit worried as detailed below.

I know that a few people on here have used Film Vault (www.filmvault.co.uk) sell their DVDs, Blu Rays etc etc before.

I sent my entire collection off last week and was told that it would have been evaluated by today and that someone would be in touch to confirm a cheque has been posted.

I've not heard from them at all since they collected the collection. Ordinarily I wouldnt be too concerned if they're running a little late but having tried to go to their website - it appears it no longer exists! So understandably i'm a little worried.

I dont have a contact number for them so am unsure how to get in touch with them.

Can anyone who might know them a bit better help me to sleep tonight by telling me they havent gone out of business.

My collection was valued at £850 so thats how much id be out of pocket

Which is the registrant of the original address, so it could just be a cock up on their behalf. And if its just a cock up that's a pretty wild allegation you have made.

Please re-read the rules, specifically what you can and can't say about people/companies

OP

this may be their address

Unit 7
The Boundary
Wheatley Road
Garsington
Oxford
Unknown
OX44 9EJ

Maybe a case of 192 or whoever to get a number

Thanks. Guess i'll have to try Monday.

I REALLY hope that they're not the same film vault as the Film Vault Ltd registered with Companies House.

That bring up:

FILMVAULT LIMITED
C/O RADCLIFFES LE BRASSEUR 5 GREAT COLLEGE STREET
WESTMINSTER
LONDON
UNITED KINGDOM
SW1P 3SJ
Company No. 07925779

And guess what Radliffes Le Brasseur are? Yes a legal firm. Insolvency anyone?

Film Vault

I work for the Film Vault and am sad to say that the owner of the Film Vault passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday. The Film Vault has been temporarily closed.

The website will be turned back on over the next few days with a message of confirmation. If you have sent goods in or are waiting for payment we will be in touch.

Sorry to hear this news too. I was wondering if their was a problem as I sent a box on the 3rd Feb and haven't heard anything yet.

I have sent countless boxes to FV over the last few years and they've always been great to deal with.

Same date that i sent mine in. Still not heard anything from them. On one hand i dont want to bother them because of the nature of the closure but on the other hand they've had my collection for some time now.

It would have been nice and actually good customer service if they'd just made a quick phone call or email just to confirm the delay.

Its not a major problem to wait - its just not knowing if and when i'll ever hear from them. The worry is probably compounded by the fact that this is the first time i've used them. However it seems they are an established company and i guess this is why i've not been hounding them with phone calls and getting angry

Yeah, Same here. As I said I've used them probably 15 times in the past and the cheque appears at the very latest 7-10 days after the courier picks the boxes up. I'm only waiting for about £80 or so but if I waiting for a cheque your size I'd give them a ring.

It's not unusual for a limited company to use a legal firm or accountants address as their main registered address so not a sign to panic over.

Ive just got home and no attempted delivery for me. Let me know if does end up being your collection.

I'd be gutted if they dont end up buying my collection. The valuation they gave me was reasonable but quite a bit better than some of the other usual suspects you can sell to. And theres no way i fancy having to sell them all individually

Still at least if they do get returned then I wont be out of pocket entirely.

Me too. Have been phoning all day with no luck. If only someone at film vault would just let us know what is happening. Just a shame I don't live closer to oxford to pop in for a chat...

Just received my parcel back with a cover note from FV stating the passing of the owner and that business is closed for the time being.

Hopefully they will re-open again as they were the most reliable of all the media buyers.

For what its worth ive dealt with filmvault in a business capacity for close to 10 years, the sudden death of a very decent guy has no doubt left them in disarray. They are a fantastically honest and fair company so anyone waiting, just be patient and ive got no doubt they will clear up anything at the first opportunity.

Totally agree, I think it was Steven I always dealt with over the phone, Great guy always chatty, I have no idea if he was the owner or just an employee. Still very sad.

nothing. no contact. no attempted deliveries.

what is starting to annoy me is that almost every time i emailed film vault i would get a reply from a different person. I reckon i have about 6-7 names plus the guy who answered the phones. So what i cant understand is that if the owner dies - why cant the remainder of the staff deal with the outstanding deals? It wouldnt take much to email or phone everyone concerned.

Now call me cynical but the bloke that used to answer the phone and also the bloke who recorded the telephone system menu were the same person. Also the person that has died I believe to also be a bloke.

Now if i were small company wanting to appear larger than I was then i would also put fictitious names and departments on correspondence too.

So as i see it - this guy has died and as such there is actually no one else left except maybe his unfortunate wife/partner to deal with the fallout. Hence all the problems.

All IMHO of course as its the only way i can explain what is happening.

Cynical Mode Off

Anyway i'm ****** off but theres nothing i can do about it. So will just have to see what happens

Film Vault

Hello everyone. Parcels have been returned to sender so most of you should receive your collections back. Please email me at shanemegansnoop2@yahoo.co.uk if anyone has any other queries and I will do what I can to help. Please provide a contact number so I can call you. There is no one at the Film Vault and it will not be open anytime soon.
