My Silky Hayate pole saw arrived today and I managed 4 hours of Oak branch clearing.
Will reach 6.1 meters in total and the blade is super sharp and made easy work of branches of 6 inches in diameter.

The bottom blade (top of the picture) is for striking/scoring the branch so you get a clean finish so stops the smaller branches from tearing as you finish the cut and the small tip on the end is for clearing small twigs I believe.
The blade is not set and you can't sharpen it up but should hold its edge longer than the set teeth blades that Silky do.
According to Silky the blade of Hayate is taper ground, back is thinner than teeth end, using NKS-85 special alloy steel, teeth are impulse hardening.

Nice, how much?
I have a pole with a hook/blade and rope for cutting thinner branches, but I need something longer and more serious to cut some height down.

Edit, I just googled prices.
I'll pay someone else to do it for less.

Most places sell them at this length for around £292 to £320 but you can get them in 3 different lengths 3.8, 5 and 6.1.
Silky also do a Hayauchi which is cheaper and again available in 3 different lengths. The blade is still great but the pole is not as strong but it's well used in the industry.
The blades are very thin, flexible and super sharp and are great for thicker work.
As with all Silky blades care must be taken, these blades are described as razor sharp.

how do i attach photos to posts??? tried posting new piccys of my tv,amp,speakers and handmade unit but not sure how??have piccys in my pics on comp but cant work out how to do it?,any link to explain would be nice

Is that image photoshoped? I don't understand how that depth of field is possible. The blurryness/in focus areas should be front to back not side to side.

It's not a criticism, it's a legitimate question as the image confuses me. Thanks.

Finally changed the car!

Been driving a 2 litre petrol motor for 3 years now. €640 a year in road tax and 30 mpg.

The 206 HDI is €330 a year tax and (allegedly) gives up to 65 mpg!

The ex had one of these and assuming it's the 1.4 (used in the Fiesta too) you can get well into the 70mpg's if driven lightly.

Your road tax there is a bit different to the UK - it was £35 for her 206!
