The Hello Thread part 2

Just want to say a big 'hello' to everyone on the AV Forums. I've just joined as an assured advertiser and am really excited at the prospect of getting involved and finding out what you guys (and girls, although looking at the stats they are in the minority here!) really want and need.

My background is in IT although I've been a dyed-in-the-wool audio enthusiast since I could crawl enough to poke some buttons on my parents gramaphone! With digital audio and video, streaming technologies and IP enabled everything the IT and AV worlds have well and truly collided, which is where I hope my experience will be of most use. I'm going to spend as much time as I can on here getting involved in as many forums as possible, but if there is anything I may be able to assist with please give me a (gentle) poke. If you have a couple of minutes to spare, pop on to our web site and have a browse. We only started up in November last year and so are adding stuff to the site all the time, if you don't see what you want/need, give me a shout and perhaps we can help.

Anyway, great to be part of this, looking forward to meeting you all.

Oh, perhaps I ought to say something. Have a 40" Sony LCD, SKY+ HD(thomson), Logitech wireless home cinema and no real audio system to speak of :-)

Hi there everyone

I'm new in london from Australia and am looking to set myself up here for a while.

Not sure where the best place to ask this is, but i'm looking for home appliances (vacuum, toaster, etc) as well as a tv.
Are these negotiable in price here as they are in Australia when you buy big items and multiple items? or is that not done here i the UK.

This is a great forum and i have made use of a similar forum in Australia.

I've just noticed is this like the "general chat" section where posts on these sections don't increase ones post count. If not 994 and counting.
