In the last few weeks I've started to get load of phishing e-mails. They always appear in my spam folder with lots of warnings from McAfee, and I always forward them (unopened of course) to the relevant phishing or security dept of the bank/building society concerned, as well as reports@banksafeonline.

I'm not especially bothered, but I've must have had about 3 or 4 a week starting about 4 weeks ago. Has anyone else noticed an increase in phising e-mails recently?

I don't open them, they're always in my spam folder and I always empty it, so whatever the volume I don't really take much notice, but notice trends ... e.g. most of my recent phishing spam is pretending to be from HMRC

- I certainly don't forward any, it's just a waste of time and effort

My Gmail is full of them, 8-10 everyday. Hotmail on the other hand, 1-2 monthly. Funny thing is, I use my Hotmail account everywhere, but my Gmail account is never used.

Oddly enough it's the other way around for me, I don't even check the hotmail anymore it's that bad

My Gmail account is the biggest spam magnet with a fat phishing folder

Hotmail less so

Yahoo even less

I can understand that even though you get loads of space for Free on Gmail , its because it is a right spam fest
