You need to set up Google Mail to retrieve your email from your other email accounts, and then when an email arrives with a Doc attached (or spreadsheet), there is an option to edit the attachment in Google Documents.
THen once edited in Googledocs, under the Share button you can email as an attachment via the Google Mail. |
Many thanks for your excellent reply
I was looking to see if yahoo had this feature and found that Yahoo acquired zimbra and they have something similar
Yahoo's secret Google Docs killer: Zimbra | Webware - CNET That article was a little dated but they had said that third quarter 08 there would be a yahoo docs like google docs. Do you know if it's available now?
Anyway for the time being I will be using google docs, is that all free or you need to pay a premium for this service?
I hope you can please answer my questions
Many thanks in advance
EDIT: I have just been using google docs, I didn't have to set up Google Mail to retrieve email from my other email accounts. All I did was send a new email from within my yahoo account to my new google email account. Then I opened the attachment using google docs. Unfortunately when it converts the file, it says something like this document may not preserve it's original format. Well it didn't, unluckily the formatting is all messed up which renders this useless, unless there is a workaround you know of???
I basically need to edit a contract in word format on the move in internet cafe's and that contract needs to look identical in print form as it does if you were to open a word doc on your PC and press print. Right now I am getting words on the wrong pages and grid boxes not showing the lines that make up the grid. I really need to fix this as it's urgent!
Please help guys?
Many thanks in advance
