Wow, its less than 100 in the UK isn't it ? knock on wood

I read somewhere that the worldwide death toll in july was only 700 ... that cant be right ? over 3000 H1N1 deaths in the US alone in just 4 months ?

The seasonal flu is responsible for 36,000 deaths in the US each year...
CDC - Seasonal Influenza (Flu) - Q & A: Questions and Answers Regarding Estimating Deaths from Influenza in the United States

Furthermore, how many of those 3,000 have actually died from H1N1? There are numerous articles first stating someone died of "swine flu", afterwards that is changed to "underlying illness aggravated by swine flu" and a few days later it is revealed the person never even had H1N1...

I guess most people who die from swine flu die from a complication like pneumonia. But the fact remains if they didn't have swine flu then they wouldn't have died so ultimately swine flu killed them.

No autopsies are performed to determine whether they suffered from swine flu or seasonal flu. People belonging to high risk groups die from complications caused by seasonal flu also.
I'm getting the creepy feeling all flu-related deaths are being catalogued as 'swine flu deaths' to keep people scared and keep the pandemic 'hype' going...

Is that really true? I thought it was true the other way round. The ONLY cases that they bother confirming with tests are those that are hospitalized as seriously ill.
I'd be very surprised if you were seriously ill (let alone died) in hospital and they never bothered to send a sample off for testing to see what you actually have!

Re: US swine flu deaths 'near 4,000'

I have to agree with xit2050, the way this pandemic is being handled is nothing short of disgraceful.

I know countless people who have developed flu symptoms and been given tamiflu and an over the phone diagnosis ridiculous. People should get real, it's flu season, people actually develop seasonal flu this time of the year, it's always happened and always will. God help these people when they really have something wrong with them and they need an antibiotic to maybe save their lives........ all this **** like tamiflu will reduce any affect these drugs can offer.

The only people laughing are the pharmaceutical companies.
