Question Fitted suit from Debenhams (Mens)

Anyone bought a fitted suit from Debenhams before?

I was window shopping and they have an offer on 1/2 price until Nov 21st. £400 down to £200 or so. Now I know it is not a £1000 fitted suit, which I would not pay regardless unless I was earning Premiership footballer wages, but I was wondering about the quality and finish. The assistant could not let on much beyond a 6 week wait and a full wool suit but I could have guessed that myself

I did see a nice M&S Autograph suit for £200 but that annoyance of a 36" and 38" suit not quite sitting right

Thanks

Going back maybe 10 years or so I had a couple of off the shelf jobbies at debenhams quite snazzy they were too shame I grew out of them before getting the full value in wearing them often enough

M&S do some nice off the peg wool mix numbers for just over £100. It depends what you want to use it for, does it come with a second pair of trousers or is there an opportunity to buy a second pair? Wool mix suitstend to be easier going than man made suits if you wear daily and dry clean fortnightly.

Does it need to be fitted? It may be seen as an extravagance for fitting especially if you are perhaps a student?

Re: Fitted suit from Debenhams (Mens)

Just for comparison, my husband had a suited made for him at a local (quite renowned I'm told) tailor. He basically chose the fabric and the style with some advice from the tailor and it was made to fit him perfectly (as you'd expect) for £380.

If you're using it for work and are going to wear it regularly then it's worth it. If it's to wear once a year I would say an off the shelf suit will do unless you have money to blow.
Have a look at factory shops and places like that because you can pick up Hugo Boss and the like for £100 a jacket sometimes.

Re: Fitted suit from Debenhams (Mens)

I already do have a few suits but a fitted suit is just one of those things you know. Would not want to be buying one without being able to choose the finish and whatnot so will give Debenhams a miss

P.S. Should be OK with longevity. Figure should stay with me
