sending a bicycle by post with no bike box

hi i need to post a bicycle, it is a trials bike, the wheels are 26" and the frame is quite long but not high

i plan to book it with parcelforce but i cant find a bike box in any shop near me and i dont drive, nightmare

what can i do?

can i post the bike as it is or do i need to put the bike in a bike box?

Have you tried asking at local shops like Halfords, Evans, local bike stores - they must have loads of boxes that they throw away every day.

You could always pick up boxes of any size from a local shop/supermarket, cut them flat and construct a box for it yourself using an awful lot of duct tape.

If you just literally strapped cardboard around it and wrapped it in type it'd at least be some kind of box.
