Help with car insurance

After having a company car for the past 30 years, i now have my own car and need to get insurance.

All the online sites ask how many years no claim bonus do i have, i have have not had a claim of any sort for the last ten years, but i have a feeling that because the cars were insured for me to drive by the companys i worked for, this might not count as years of no claim bonus.

Be grateful if anyone in the car insurance business could give me some advice on this.

Thank You

On confused they have an area you can fill out for company car users. I haven't used it myself, but my friend recently went self employed and had to purchase his own car. I guess the company car no claims counts. It significantly lowered the premiums he was getting quoted.

All you need is a letter from your company stating how long you have been on the company car policy and confirming that you haven't made a claim. It should count as proof of no claims bonus.

Would they risk a fraud investigation to lie for you?

I dont think it would do any favours to Lie, if it was a lie i would be complicit in the lie and if i had to claim and the insurance company checked it out, my insurance would not pay out.

Re: Help with car insurance

My company car scheme will provide a no-claims certificate on request.

Cheers,
