Cancer Research
Hello all
On 25th October, I will be running a 10k around Strathclyde Park in aid of Cancer Research UK. Most of us have had our lives touched directly or indirectly by this disease, and so, like the heart-wrenching back story from a single mother entering the X-factor, my hope is that this thought will emotionally blackmail you into giving me your votes (or sponsorship in this case) at the following link:
Run 10k for Cancer Research UK - Frank Kavanagh's Fundraising Page
On a serious note, many thanks for your time and any contribution large or small you can make to this worthy cause.
kav

Re: Sponsorship request - 10k for Cancer Research UK
Bump - many thanks to those who have donated - over £300 so far, so not too much more to hit the £500 target. I also found out that my work will match however much I raise, pound for pound up to £750, so every pound you donate will be doubled. Thanks.

Re: Sponsorship request - 10k for Cancer Research UK
Bump. Close to hitting my target now, if anyone's feeling generous, your contribution would be much appreciated.
Not so confident now about beating my 10k time - I've been ill for the last couple of weeks, and can't seem to shake a cough, so haven't been doing much training at all. Still, I'll get it done, even if I end up having to walk it!

Re: Sponsorship request - 10k for Cancer Research UK
One last bump to see if I can catch anyone in a good mood on Friday morning. The run is on Sunday - I've already exceeded my target, so many thanks to those of you who have contributed. I'm hopeful I might even make it up to £750, as my work will match every pound donated up to a total of £750. This means I could end up contributing £1500 in total - I'd be delighted with this considering my original goal was just £200!
Thanks again.

Re: Sponsorship request - 10k for Cancer Research UK
All done this morning. Delighted that even though I've been unable to do any training for nearly three weeks, I managed to shave 2'12" off my PB time from September (PB is now 54'23"). Weather was rotten, as you'd expect from Scotland in October. Feels great to have done it now though! Many thanks to those who donated, and if anyone would like to contribute to this excellent cause, my donation page remains open until December.
