Quidco

Just registered with them, kinda confused.

If I go to eBay through Quidco and I buy something, I earn cashback from that purchase? It says make sure you pay by going though Quidco, so as long as I click the eBay link through Quidco, then pay for an item I earn cashback from it?

Also, lets say I have an item that I already won the auction and need to pay for. If I go trough the Quidco site I'll still get cashback even though I didn't actually originally win the auction through the Quidco site.

Just a little confused that's all, cheers.

i think you only earn cashback on what ebay make on the transaction in fees. so if you buy something for say 50 pounds and the seller has to pay 1 pound in fees for listing etc you will earn 40p. it is 40% cashback on whatever the seller pays in fees.

Re: Quidco

I use quidco all the time for ebay.

Just make sure that when you are going to pay for the item you go via the quidco link.

If you are just bidding you do not need to go via quidco.

I think it tracks the payment via paypal somehow.

Re: Quidco

For all Quidco purcahses you have to login to Quidco and then access the site from there.

Not 100% sure with eBay but I would have thought it would track your winning bid rather than the payment - so stuff you have already won even if you haven't paid probably won't track. Hey but if I'm wrong that's good news for you.

I have also found Quidco eBay erratic. It is a percentage (quite a high one as I recall) of the winning fees.

My eBay purchases have always tracked but I've never been able to make sense of what I got paid.

Sometimes it would be just a few pence, other times, a few pounds for similar sized purcahsed.

I was going to complain, but then they went through a spate of paying me twice on two quite big transactions so I decided to keep quite.

I find Quidco can be quite erratic in general - you might have absolutely no problem with a retailer (such as HMV or GAME) and then they suddenly won't pay up.

It's best not to get too hung up about it because Quidco aren't that good at chasing problems. I just make sure that I don't assume Quidco when going for the best deal.

Cheers,

Nigel
