How to open Renault Scenic boot from inside boot?

I managed to get my laptop strap caught in the latch of my car boot today. This means that the boot is registering as open, but I can't open it, and also means that I can't lock the car!! Any tips? I can’t pull the strap as its stuck dead tight.

Long shot I know, any ideas or is it off to the garage for them to have a laugh at me.

Cars a 55 plate.

Have you tried crawling into the boot and giving it a good kicking?

I haven't tried kicking it actually. I wonder if I'd break something? Thinking about it, I don't think the latch would budge would it as it would be locked in place.

I would remove the back seats completely and crawl into the boot and see if you can remove the boot panelling to get to the lock.

Bloody Scenic boots, the bane of my life. I'm an expert at taking them apart screw by screw. My wife drives one

Cheers guys. I’ve already tried that.

I can't get the panelling off completely as there a cover covering the lock that covers over the panelling. Oh well, I'll have a look at it in the light tomorrow.

Fixed!! A couple of big angled bars and a bit of force.

Didn't think it would work either....
