Best Hotel In Cardiff ?

Anybody have a recommendation for a top class 4/5 star hotel , close to city center, ideally overlooking the bay...

Requirements are :

Quiet.
Luxurious.
Spa with Pool / Jacussi etc.
Excellent Chef / Evening Menu.
Close to city center/the bay...
Parking would be helpful.

Not worried on cost as it's will be for just one evening.

I've been on trip advisor for the last 30 minutes and St Davids seems to come up well but equally has some comments about medicore luxury in the rooms etc.

Any feedback appreciated.

Re: Best Hotel In Cardiff ?

Shame it has to be in that specific locale as the Celtic Manor hotel is only a couple of miles away.

Go there fairly regularly with the Mrs for the odd night away.

Lovely place and facilities but have never been impressed with the food (considering what it costs that is a bit poor!)

Another vote for Celtic Manor - excellent hotel.
IIRC they run their own cars to chauffeur guests. Not sure if they charge though.

Re: Best Hotel In Cardiff ?

Celtic Manor did look nice but ultimately we wanted to be by the bay , so we ended up with a junior suite at The St. David's Hotel and Spa. Seemed reasonable and included breakfast and full use of the spa.

Thanks to all those who assisted.

Re: Best Hotel In Cardiff ?

Update, after reading a number of reviews of St Davids, we opted for the Park Plaza, the location isn't on par with St Davids, but we bagged a senior suite for £200 + change, inclusive of a complimentary executive tray including wine and so forth and inclusive breakfast with a suite at the back of the hotel with a half decent view.

St Davids, wins hands down on view overlooking the bay but while it's ranked as a 5* nobody seems very impressed with the rooms, more travellodge than luxurious.

Spa seems nice at Park Plaza as well.
