Has anyone climbed Mount Kilimanjaro?

I have been thinking about this for quite a while now, and having done my (basic, but I think careful enough, especially regarding altitude sickness) research, that I am going to go for it. I have even got permission from 'er indoors to go it alone, which is even better.

Looking at the seemingly hundreds of companies on the 'net who offers trips however it seems like a shot in the dark as to who to pick. Has anyone done it - any advice please on who to choose as a safe and reliable guide?

Thanks!
