Lunch Question

How often do you eat lunch at your desk? Just wondering really might be quite interesting to see some of the answers and reasons why you do what for lunch.

I work in Glasgow, three minutes and I'm on a path next to the river Clyde and on to Glasgow Green. Is nice.

Agree with you though - I'd hate to be breathing exhaust constantly. I rarely go running outdoors when in London.

How on earth in your lunch hour do you find time to change clothes/run/clean yourself up/change clothes/eat?

Something about running full stop if you ask me, i think people should only run if late for something ,and then make it look like a brisk walk

We've got shower facilities on each floor of the building, so takes me 5 minutes to change, just over half an hour to run a little over 4 miles, 15 minutes to shower and change, and then another 20-25 minutes to get some food and eat it...okay, that comes to about an hour and a quarter, but I usually work a minimum of an extra 1-1.5 hours a day, so it's not really a problem.

Re: Lunch Question

I prefer to leave the office and go out, but that sometimes isn't always practical. We actually get a lunch allowance at work which you order in the previous day which is an incentive to save money and eat while you work. Nice to break it up a bit though as it can get a bit boring.

Re: Lunch Question

Not working at the moment but when I was I would go outside at lunchtimes, would go and lean on a gate looking over a meadow just by the company site and munch on a granola bar while relaxing and watching the birds. At my previous job I'd sometimes eat at my desk, sometimes go for a walk in the park.

Re: Lunch Question

We don't have time off for lunch, or breaks. We have an 8 hour day in which we decide what time we want to put aside for such things

I eat a tuna salad at my desk, and then continue working once I've eaten it.. not much else to do here, I surf when I feel like it anyway.

Re: Lunch Question

I put "eat away from my desk", I have to desks, one of which has my computer etc which is my main workstation, but when I eat I move over to my other desk as its clearer, I don't want hygiene to be an issue when eating at the computer as crumbs can get in the keyboard etc, can be an issue of hygiene then, so I always eat away from my computer etc, but still technically at my desk.
