Ok silly question but any idea how you resize the pic? I tried paint. Don't have photoshop and Picasa just won't do it. Getting a pic 50 by 50 pixels and then making sure it's 2.0 KB seems to be impossible!

https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/i...duct=fireworks

you could trial fireworks and use that, it allows you to do a preview mode where you can modify quality and see how it affects the file size.

Are you using Windows? You can just do it with Paint in the Accessories menu. No need to download anything.

If it were bigger to start with perhaps, but I'm afraid it will pixelate too easily.

Anyone else want to turn this into a show & tell for Avatars ??

I chose the skull and cross bones simply to match my Xbox Gamerpic wihch has long since changed. I am considering changing it to something polar opposite.....like a fluffy bunny or a flower. Kingfats recently changed his and it all felt a bit weird not seeing Hank anymore

Easily done in photoshop, you'd be amazed at how much you can change the look of someone with it, there are some good videos on youtube of people doing "extreme photoshop makeovers" where they take a picture of a larger woman and make them "sexier", quite a serious transformation.

If people want to play that game they should also put their avatar in the post as due to the set avatar size it is impossible to work out what most peoples avatar is.

It's not the fault of the person posting that the other person might have bad eyes or can't tell something easily!
Anyone can tell your avatar is Michael Jackson, I figure you're a big fan

Totally agree with Hill about when some people change their avatar it seems weird.

I think it's more confusing when people change their avatar to something totally different, a lot of the time you can tell who is posting by a quick look at the avatar, seeing something new or different just throws you out slightly, never paid much attention to my own though.

Re: Your Forum Avatar

For anyone who doesn't know, mine is U2's first album cover. This was the album that spawned my love of music (not just U2).

I had Pink Floyd's "The Wall" cover, but I've lost the original pic and only have my Christmas version saved.

I've been thinking of another change, and most likely it will be another album cover.

Hmmm...got me thinking now.
