Office chair suggestions
Hi all,
I work from home a lot and have been OK'd by my company to buy a decent chair for my home office (the one I have is causing me neck problems!).
I need something for extended use and that has good lumbar (and if possible neck) support.
I have looked at the Ergohuman range that look really good but a little out of budget. I have £350 inc to spend.
So any thoughts?
Cheers!

Re: Office chair suggestions
I use a Verco V-Smart as I get a bad neck very easily and work from home. Very pleased with it!

Re: Office chair suggestions
My brother gave me an Aeron a few years ago and I loved it - its a great looking, very comfortable chair and I was sometimes in it for 14 hours a day coding without getting sore.
You should be able to get a second hand model for that money on Ebay (I sold mine there for a nice profit )
Aeron Chair from Herman Miller, available from PRB in the UK

Re: Office chair suggestions
Looks good, unfortunately it needs to be new so a little out of the price range.

Re: Office chair suggestions
Slightly OT, but I used to get loads of pain in my elbows and neck. One day I discovered it was due to the armrest on the chairs making me hold my arms at a wierd angle. Got rid of the armrests, got rid of the pain.

I would definitely agree with going for an aeron chair. If you are willing to travel to London you can pick up a new one on Gumtree for £365. I got mine from here http://www.gumtree.com/london/64/42450364.htm

Re: Office chair suggestions
Another thumbsup for the Aeron
We've been using one daily at home for the last 7 years or so, and it's still in tip top condition in terms of comfort and looks

Re: Office chair suggestions
I'd go for a clasic Eames Office Chair.
Won't give you much in the way of support but will look really cool in your office.

Re: Office chair suggestions
Where I used to work used this company for specialist chairs:
Welcome to Sitsmart
Plenty of ideas on their website. You can fill in an assessment form for them and they will recommend a chair for your needs.
I actually got my Verco V-Smart elsewhere athough s it was cheaper at the time. I tried out several different ones at a local company and found that one the best as my neck tended to stiffen up. That one keeps you moving and follows you as you move which suited me.

Another vote from me, the company I work for uses those, and they are seriously comfortable
