Re: places to eat in reading
What are you after?
There is a nice Italian called Ninos which is a 5 minutes walk from Malmaison, and a nice Thai called Art of Siam which is tasty. If you want simple Pie & Chips with an ale go to Sweeney and Todds - awesome.
Google will probably give you a better route than my shoddy directions though

Might seem a bit obvious but what about Malmaison?

Re: places to eat in reading
Food wise, if you like Greek, go to Kyrenia in Caversham. It's about 10 mins walk from the station. It's a family run restaurant with fantastic food, wine and service. Heartily recommended.
If you like Indian food go to Miah's Garden of Gulab in Cemetary Junction. Again, great food and service. One of my favourite Indian restaurants

I used to work away quite a lot and always hated eating in hotels as they are soulless so I'd always find a local restaurant instead

Re: places to eat in reading
The woman who won this year's "Apprentice" has a Caversham restaurant (very near Reading) called "Mya Lacarte".
