Spotify on iPhone in 'days'

BBC NEWS | Technology | Spotify sets its sights on iPhone

Will iTunes tracks reduce in price to compete?

Will Apple offer a subscription service?

Will Apple focus more on video?

Will Apple ever sell anyting more than their 8GB model?

Re: Spotify on iPhone in 'days'

I can't imagine that Apple will approve this unless it is for subscription based customers only.

I think for a lot of people, me included, a subscription service is not that an attractive proposition. I don’t spend a huge amount on music and will generally buy anywhere between 1 and 5 tracks a month and when I do it’s usually from iTunes.

Isnt spotify streaming anyway? If it is then space hasnt got much to do with it since you're not downloading just streaming

"will anyone need anything more".. as in, they wont need to buy anything other than the 8gb iphone as spotify will deal with all the music therefore people wont need as much space on their iphone.

Re: Spotify on iPhone in 'days'

I think I will go for the subscription option as it will mean ad-free from PC as well as on iPhone.

I think the subscription model for all such suppliers is the way forward combined with a cheaper say £0.25 per track to download and keep.

Re: Spotify on iPhone in 'days'

The ones who will start to complain about Spotify as it becomes more widely used is the ISP's, who hate anyone using their bandwidth (even though we pay them generously for it).

That's what I would suspect, in reality its taking away from Apples revenue stream of selling tracks but they may have to accept if because Spotify is going to be cross platform (android, PS3, maybe Pre??).
