What precautions can you take?

I would be classed as high risk for catching the flu, I service heating systems and gas appliances for a living and work for a large subcontractor that subs to a large Housing association in a large city, I tend to go into the office, then to about 8 properties a day. My collegues have come accross a few suspected cases as have I already, but none of us so far have any symtoms.
We all carry and use the antibacterial alcohol based liquid, but the company have had meetings (a very large concern, obviously I wont name who I work for), but all they have said is they have a company doctor on the case, they wont supply us with any measures to deal with this, (we are supplying our own antibacterial) and if we suspect we have a case of swine flu we are to contact this doctor and they will check up we are actually ill and not pulling a sicky. Are there any measures we can take?

Basically no - just wash you hands more than you already would - and don't worry about it hugely.

I wouldn't have thought you were that high a risk group, certainly not in comparison to doctors and other medical staff, teachers, many shop workers etc - all of whom will have more contacts during the day than you.

It's airborne, the likelihood is you will inhale it, so you can zealously wash your hands, it aint gonna do much.
Taking ginger is meant to be a good remedy if you get flu

It's airbourne only in droplets - not as a pure virus - you are much much more likely to catch if from a door handle etc, than you are from breathing it in normal spaces (inside an aeroplane is probably the exception to this)

If it was called 'cute cuddly little fluffy bunny flu' would you be as worried?

Cramped offices, air conditioning etc are going to be major contributors to the spread of it.
