Exclamation Swine flu calls to GPs 'jump 50%'

The number of people contacting their doctor over fears they have swine flu jumps 50% in the last week to 40,000 a week.

the government really need to clamp down on this with nationwide awareness..... and possibly open more 'walk-in' centres dedicated to any kind of flu presenting person....

the biggest losers here will be patients already in the system on regular medication and those presenting with acute medical conditions who simply cannot get an appointment....

i wish the dept. of health would liase with GP's a little better too.... theres simply no concrete protocol at the moment..... making the NHS look slightly amateur at the moment.... thats another reason so many people are calling their GP's... they dont know who else to call
