In what material? - obviously you can do it for any undermount sink - but there isn't one in say Steel in the latest Franke Catalog. (which I've got on my desk)

Any particular reason ?

Something like this.

Utility Sit On 1.0 Bowl Left Hand Drainer Stainless Steel, 5011818033727

they do an inset one as well.

Good point, I'll check into the prices of the undermount, but I think they will be discounted due to the much easier maintenance and cleaning, and no doubt less expensive option of a stainless inset.

Stainless would be favorite, I'm thinking the other materials may well be more expensive.

Two tap hole sink, basically as the vented tap options are, a two tap hole mixer which seems be be a better build quality and has standard rubber washers that can easily be replaced in years to come, rather than the monobloc option with rubber flexies, and ceramic discs (not so easy to get hold of in the future if the paper work is lost), and also more flow achievable using 15mm tube rather than the small diameter flexies.

Don't mind drilling a stainless one, only thing is finding one with a large enough flat area where the mixer will reach the bowl and the 1/2 bowl...

Any more thoughts, please

Re: 1 & 1/2 bowl kitchen sink with two tap holes...

2 taphole 1.5 bowl sinks do not exist because this type of sink uses 'portrait' style bowls to save space, resulting in a minimal 'monoblock' taphole area behind the bowl.

The other reason is simply lack of demand as monoblock taps are more popular, so much so that 2 taphole sinks are harder and harder to track down .
And just imagine the fun people would have if they fitted pillar taps instead if a deck mixer - one bowl hot - one bowl cold

Btw, don' even consider unermount bowls unless you are using granite/timber/corian worktops.
(if cost is an issue then you won't be using these materials)

Re: 1 & 1/2 bowl kitchen sink with two tap holes...

I think I understand what you're trying to achieve, and if I do, the link below might fit the bill.

sinksandtaps.com Blanco STRATO 6S 1.5 Bowl Sink

They have a couple that might do what you want, but for a 2 tap mixer to reach both bowls, I guess it'll have to be offset, and may look a bit odd?

But if you could find a 2 hole mixer tap with a pull out rinse thingy, you could mount the tap centrally, & still use the half bowl?

Re: 1 & 1/2 bowl kitchen sink with two tap holes...

The Blanco Strato 6s is essentially a one tap hole sink with another hole adjacent for a pop-up waste mechanism.

The two holes are not spaced correctly to accept a deck mounted (2 taphole)
mixer and in any ase, the spout would really only service the half bowl.

I think the OP is really trying to stick to older style compression valves for reliabillity issues, although most taps with rubber washers in them are now mainly 'budget' models of generally lower/average quality.

Just because you can get washers for them 'anywhere' doesn't make them better.

Keep your receipt, buy from a well known brand such as Franke,Blanco,Bristan
Leisure etc and you will find that spares are available.

Ceramic disk taps are so much easier to operate without having
to 'overtighten' the valve to make sure the water is really turned off everytime.

Would you go to a garage for parts without knowing the make, model or year ?

Re: 1 & 1/2 bowl kitchen sink with two tap holes...

I was thinking more of keeping the pop up waste, using the existing tap hole for the left hand of the mixer tap, & drilling a new hole for the right hand.

And if the spout moves, it may reach both bowls, but you'd have to check, which is why I mentioned the pull out rinse type taps.

Re: 1 & 1/2 bowl kitchen sink with two tap holes...

Many thanks for your input, I think the monobloc will be the only way to go as the original 1 bowl sink was approx £120, with the £200 two tap hole mixer. Looks come a distant second compared to ease of maintenance (if any), cost, and ease of use. I don't think the budget will stretch to a £500 Blanco, for me to drill holes in The first sink I come across which would allow holes to be drilled so the mixer could fill both bowls was over £1k :o discounted that idea ;-)

Cool, thanks again, I'll stop my search and give two options, single bowl with two tap hole mixer, 1.5 bowls with monobloc.
Done

Cheers for the info!
