Amiga Music CD

This is going to be a very, very long shot.

Does anyone remembers that there was a commercial CD sold that was played entirely by the Commodore Amiga (no, not the demo tracks). I think it was composed by various artists such as Rob Hubbard and other famous Amiga musician.

I think the CD is at least 15 years old, unfortunately mine was nicked when we were burgled

Anyone knows the name of the CD would be much appreciated.

Cheers

You might want to try the souls at Lemon Amiga as they seem to have saved everything else from the era of this mightiest of games machines.

Sonic, "Everybody's Girlfriend" doesn't ring a bell, but I'll see if I could google that, but thanks for the info.

Re: Amiga Music CD

He's been on a couple of compilations such as "Back in Time" but that's a collection of C64 tunes.

There are also a lot of folk out there who still make tracks, there are a load of sites out there where you can get demoscene tracks and similar, google is your friend here...

Thanks Iccz,

I'm looking for that particular CD as there were some (or a lot :D) of decent tracks on that CD.

I've got an Amiga PD CD (Multimedia toolkit or something like that) with a heap of mods and other junk on it. Any use?

Re: Amiga Music CD

Try here

Although they are heavy on the C64 stuff, I see they have Atari ST/Amiga tracks too.

Re: Amiga Music CD

Thanks again Sonic, not sure if it is the one I lost, but doesn't sound like it as I remembered it was all instrumental.

Do you know where I can get some samples of the album (Everybody's Girlfriend) from please? I wouldn't mind checking it out.

Thanks

Re: Amiga Music CD

Found it!! At last!

After many hours of Googling, the album was Sounds Digital by Alistair Brimble (a legend in the Amiga world of musicians). In fact, the album (and other of his works) are available to download for free in here.

Note! Music may not be everyone's taste .

Re: Amiga Music CD

Why oh why can't these artists put the music AS IT WAS on the Amiga directly on the CD? It's not difficult, I've done it myself many times, and Amiga sound is hardly unlistenable. But no, these artists always have to do "professional" versions of their hits.

All my Amiga MP3s consist of direct recordings of Amiga demos straight from either emulated or other sources, but they ARE Amigas, not redone stuff.

I don't think it is. The Amiga was mainly used as a sequencer, but the music is still very good though. Amiga was the best for producing some of the most amazing sound/music in its time, IMHO .

A third of my MP3s are Demoscene stuff, and a good HALF of those are direct Amiga recordings from WinUAE or an actual Amiga, no frills, just Paula's direct output. And it's worthy of being put on a CD, that's for sure.
